Our Teachers

All our teachers are fully qualified with up to date DBS's a First Aid certificate and Safeguarding Certificate.

Amie Blake

DDE Modern/Jazz and Tap, Acro Trix, Alixa Flexibility M1 & M2

 

Amie started her training at the age of 3 in ISTD modern and tap and RAD ballet at Busybodies Stage School in Dereham. Over her 13 years at Busybodies Amie took part in many dance festivals, charity events and school shows. Also achieving excellent results in exams in modern, tap, ballet, jazz, singing, drama and musical theatre.   

 

At the age of 16 Amie continued her training at Masters Performing Arts College in Essex studying various styles of dance including contemporary, jazz, commercial jazz, also musical theatre, acting and singing.

 

Whilst at college Amie performed in a variety of shows and performances including a music video, Eastenders Children in Need Special 2011 and at Wimbledon for the opening of the Olympic tennis (a Flash Mob).

 

At the age of 13 Amie became a teaching assistant at busybodies after school and at weekends, helping out with the younger children’s classes. She discovered a love of teaching and whilst at college took the opportunity to gain her ISTD teaching qualification in modern and tap. Amie has taught many children to exam standard all achieving excellent results.

 

Amie also had the opportunity to take part in the Recreation of Roy Castle’s world record attempt for The One Show in 2013. In 2014 Amie spent a year training with the Tap Attack Adult Company and was chosen to join their England team. As part of the England Team Amie attended the Tap Dance World Championships in Riesa Germany, where she gained a gold medal for their Adult formation routine.

Lara Blake

RAD Ballet, DDE Tap, DDI Modern/Jazz and Ballet, AAC1, Acro Trix, PBT, Aerial Hoop

Lara started dancing at the age of 2 learning ballet, modern and tap at Busybodies Stage School in Dereham. Continuing her studies Lara gained a place as a junior associate at the Royal Ballet School in London. During her training, she took many exams in RAD (ballet) ISTD (modern, tap and jazz), singing, piano and drama (LAMDA), and performed in many shows, festivals and fetes.  At 16 Lara moved to Essex to start her 3-year training at Masters Performing Arts College. Whilst at college she learnt many more styles of dance, performed in shows at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London, and danced at the NHS awards and at the Hannah Montana film premiere.

 

Her professional career started shortly after graduating from Masters, taking her to her dream job working in Disneyland Paris, She appeared as many different characters and danced in parades.

After 2 years in Paris, she also worked in Disneyland Tokyo for a year in Japan.

 

Lara's love of travelling has seen her working in Greece for three years (Rhodes and Kos) working as a dancer and entertainer and dance captain.

 

When Lara was 11 she started helping out in the junior dance classes and her love of teaching grew from there. Lara's always dreamed of running her own dance school.

 

Lara's teaching qualifications include RAD ballet, ISTD ballet, modern and tap, Acrobatic Arts Certified and also her LAMDA gold
